How long child?

How long would we go on like this
How long?
How long will you ask me questions
And not listen to my answers
How long?
How long will you request for something
Only to throw it back at my face when I provide it
How long?
How long will you keep crying
And even reject a simple handkerchief from me
How long?
How long will you keep hurting me
And saying “I’M SORRY” a million times and over
How long?
How long will you keep beating yourself for that mistake, and hide from me even when you’ve been forgiven
How long?
How long will I keep telling you
That my arms are outstretched to reach you
How long child?
I've waited for long and I’m still waiting
To show you that I’m ABBA

Of late I've been thinking about a lot of things, mainly on what is really important in life. As a young lady I've known quite a few people that have passed on from this side of eternity, and it has made me wonder if life is worth it!! Why do we run around and hustle really hard for money when it can't buy us life when we need it? why do we spend our money on fancy clothes, shoes, cars, jewelries and perfumes if those things don't give us true relationships? Why do the people we love betray our trust? why does love hurt sometimes? why is life not as smooth as fairy tales and movies sometimes portray? why do those who really want stuff never get them, yet those who have them don't value what they have? why is there always a need for more?
