The Profitable Woman

 Psalms 46:5, 7 (KJV) God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. When you carry God's presence, there's an air of peace that goes with you in every situation that you find yourself.   In the midst of whatever turmoil the world brings your way, you are not moved.  The challenges of today do not shake God's Kinda Girl because one thing is sure: GOD WILL HELP HER!! So, I admonish you this morning to abide in God's Presence daily. Have a blessed day Mi Love ❤

Consider this as a random rant!  I haven't blogged in a while so this is me picking up an old habit again. A lot has happened in my life in the last year or two, and I have grown and learned so much in the process. One lesson of note is this: "the things you are born to do never leave you" you may drift away from them, lose touch with the skills etc, but they never completely leave. Inside of you, there's an inward magnet that keeps pushing back to your core. Writing for me is my CORE. Whenever I stop writing, I find that I am unable to organize my thoughts, and my life just seems to be drifting by or spinning out of control.........whew!!!  Okay!! That's enough sharing! world book day As bibliophiles around the world join UNESCO to celebrate love for the written word on April 23rd which is World Book Day, it is imperative that we take an intense appraisal of our nation with regards to our relationship with books. As a nation, we have been blessed with the gift of Democracy. I tag it a gift because, simply put, democracy signifies freedom. A democratic nation is ideally a nation with unlimited access to information; and information is found in books. However, the realities of our nation today speak of limited access to information caused mainly by a Wrong Mentality created by the perception of books as used for only boring and difficult assignments and exams. This perception creates a purpose mismatch and kills the drive of individual reading outside the confines of formal education. Mrs Somebody The name game is increasingly a touchy subject especially as women get more assertive and more educated. Most brides say ‘I do’ in a flurry of lace, confetti and glee and a name change ‘naturally’ follows. Many a time, it’s not a decision, in this society there are no options. It’s just a sequel to the vows, a hardwired imperative. It starts long before the nuptials, or even before the decision to get hitched. Society speaks it to you early enough that your current name is only temporary by virtue of being female. It asserts that your male siblings will ‘carry on the family name’ as it goes without saying that someday you’ll be married off and enveloped by another family. So it’s seared in your psyche over the years, and with marriage, a name change is imminent if not inevitable. In fact, gifts and cards at the wedding are addressed to the new ‘Mr and Mrs’.
