Go with the flow or NAH!!

Consider this as a random rant!  I haven't blogged in a while so this is me picking up an old habit again. A lot has happened in my life in the last year or two, and I have grown and learned so much in the process. One lesson of note is this: "the things you are born to do never leave you" you may drift away from them, lose touch with the skills etc, but they never completely leave. Inside of you, there's an inward magnet that keeps pushing back to your core. Writing for me is my CORE. Whenever I stop writing, I find that I am unable to organize my thoughts, and my life just seems to be drifting by or spinning out of control.........whew!!!  Okay!! That's enough sharing! The goodnews is that this chic is back and better!!! #Hallelujah lots and lots of projects are kicking!!! and I would be delighted to share these experiences with you. BOOKS AND OUR NATION

world book day As bibliophiles around the world join UNESCO to celebrate love for the written word on April 23rd which is World Book Day, it is imperative that we take an intense appraisal of our nation with regards to our relationship with books. As a nation, we have been blessed with the gift of Democracy. I tag it a gift because, simply put, democracy signifies freedom. A democratic nation is ideally a nation with unlimited access to information; and information is found in books. However, the realities of our nation today speak of limited access to information caused mainly by a Wrong Mentality created by the perception of books as used for only boring and difficult assignments and exams. This perception creates a purpose mismatch and kills the drive of individual reading outside the confines of formal education.
